A special court has issued an arrest warrant for Azam Swati, a leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf( PTI) and former civil minister, in connection with a case involving a controversial tweet.

The leave was issued due to Swati’s continued absence from court sounds in the case. Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand directed the Federal Investigation Agency( FIA) to arrest Azam Swati and present him before the court. Swati had preliminarily approached the Islamabad High Court( IHC) seeking post-arrest bail after his original arrest.

The contestation arose when Swati made controversial tweets against state institutions. On November 27 of the former time, the Federal Investigation Agency( FIA) arrested Swati at his grange in Islamabad’s Chak Shahzad area in connection with these tweets. Swati had been granted bail by the IHC on January 2, taking him to post a bond of Rs 200,000.

still, the arrest leave was issued due to hisnon-compliance with court proceedings in the case. This development underscores the legal and political challenges faced by individualities involved in cases related to social media posts and online statements, especially when they touch on sensitive issues or institutions.
