A tragic incident occurred in Balochistan’s Mastung district on Friday, resulting in the loss of at least 13 lives and injuries to more than 70 individuals. The district administration reported that among the deceased was Mastung’s Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nawaz Gashkori.

This incident was attributed to a “suicide blast,” with the attacker detonating explosives near DSP Gishkori’s vehicle. In response, emergency measures were initiated at all hospitals. Security forces promptly cordoned off the area and commenced investigations.

Balochistan’s interim Information Minister Jan Achakzai stated that rescue teams had been dispatched to Mastung and that critically injured victims were being transported to Quetta. Chief Minister Ali Mardan Domki instructed authorities to apprehend those responsible for the attack.

Interim Interior Minister Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti strongly condemned the blast and expressed his condolences for the lives lost. This tragic event followed a similar incident earlier in the month, where 11 people, including JUI-F leader Hafiz Hamdullah, were injured in a blast in the same district.
