CPEC Is Pakistan’s Lifeline, Says PM Kakar

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar emphasized the significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in enhancing economic and trade relations between Pakistan and China during an interactive roundtable meeting in Beijing.

He shared Pakistan’s vision for CPEC, emphasizing regional connectivity and sustainable development as its core goals. Kakar highlighted the achievements of CPEC over the last decade, including the construction of new roads and highways, job creation, and the addition of electricity to the national grid.

The roundtable participants, including Chinese academics and scholars, acknowledged CPEC’s importance and its role in strengthening the partnership between the two countries.

They also expressed continued interest from Chinese companies in investing in Pakistan’s Special Economic Zones and contributing to CPEC’s growth and regional connectivity. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to making CPEC a catalyst for regional trade, connectivity, and people-to-people exchanges.
