The Pakistani government has organized its “first-ever” mineral summit to explore the vast potential of the minerals industry in the country. The summit, known as the Pakistan Minerals Summit, was attended by experts in mineralogy, federal ministers, foreign ambassadors, foreign investors, and other important personalities. The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, was the chief guest, and the Army Chief was the guest of honor at the inaugural session.

The objective of the summit is to promote direct foreign investment opportunities in the mineral sector and leverage modern and advanced technology in agriculture, livestock, and mineral sectors to accelerate Pakistan’s development. Pakistan is rich in mineral resources, including coal, copper, gold, gypsum, and marble, spread across an area of 6,000 square kilometers. The utilization of modern mining techniques is expected to boost revenues from salt reserves.

During the inaugural session, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the need for untiring efforts and hard work to achieve the dream of putting the country on the path of development and prosperity. He urged participants to translate the discussions and presentations made during the summit into actionable plans to restore Pakistan’s past glory.

Additionally, Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Musadik Malik, invited foreign investors to invest in various sectors of Pakistan, particularly in minerals and mining. The summit aimed to increase Foreign Direct Investment in the country and foster the transformation from Dust to Development.
