KP CM Gandapur to Attend SIFC Meeting, Confirms Barrister Saif

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur is set to participate in the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) meeting in Islamabad today, as confirmed by Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif, Pakistan Talk Show reported on Saturday.

Earlier, Special Assistant to CM KP on information and public relations, Barrister Saif, criticized the federal government for not extending an invitation to the KP chief minister for the SIFC meeting. However, following intervention from the KP governor, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formally invited the KP chief executive to join the upcoming session.

In a statement today, Barrister Saif emphasized, “The chief minister will certainly represent Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as he has received an invitation to attend the SFIC meeting.

There are promising investment opportunities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the chief minister will elaborate on them during the meeting.”

In another development, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to chair a meeting of SIFC’s apex committee at the PM House today. The session will witness the participation of top officials, including all chief ministers, Deputy Prime Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, and ministers from various key portfolios.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqi will brief the meeting on anti-smuggling measures, while a comprehensive update on the current security situation in the country will also be presented.

Established in June 2023, the SIFC aims to foster collaboration between provincial and federal government representatives, as well as military officials, in decision-making processes related to economic revival and attracting foreign direct investment (FDI).

The council is overseen by an apex committee comprising the prime minister, chief of army staff, chief ministers, and other senior government officials.
