The Lahore High Court has ordered the release of former Chief Minister of Punjab, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, who was detained in connection with the Assets Beyond Means case.
Justice Amjad Rafiq presided over the hearing and ordered Elahi’s release. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had arrested Elahi for failing to provide information in the assets beyond means case, which also involves his son, Monis Elahi, and other family members.
Additionally, NAB has initiated an inquiry against Monis Elahi in the excessive assets case. Elahi was taken from Adiala Jail to appear before a session court in Rawalpindi for transit remand.
