National Zeal Marks the Observance of Air Force Day Today

Air Force Day is observed in Pakistan today to commemorate the bravery of those who defended the country’s airspace during the 1965 war against Indian aggression.

During the 1965 war, Pakistani pilots, despite limited resources, not only repelled Indian air attacks but also handed India a resounding defeat. They displayed unmatched expertise in aerial combat and unwavering courage.
Notably, Muhammad Mahmood Alam, commonly known as M.M. Alam, shot down five Indian Air Force Hawker Hunter Mk. 56 fighters in less than a minute.

To mark this occasion, Pakistan and China conducted their joint annual air exercise, Shaheen-X, in the cities of Jiuquan and Yinchuan in Northwest China. Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) J-10 C and JF-17 aircraft participated in the exercise along with air and ground crews.

Shaheen exercises have been held since 2011 and are hosted by both countries alternately. This exercise aims to enhance aerial combat practices, operational readiness, promote interoperability, and create synergy between the two strategic allies in the region.

The exercise incorporates modern elements such as hybrid warfare, cyberspace, and computing, which will enhance the effectiveness of the Pakistan Air Force in the evolving landscape of modern warfare.

By conducting such joint exercises, the Pakistan Air Force reaffirms its commitment to regional harmony, international security, and the continuous advancement of its capabilities. This collaboration strengthens the bonds of camaraderie and unity between the Air Forces of Pakistan and China.
