In the early hours of Thursday, Iftikhar Durrani, a senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was apprehended by the police.

According to undisclosed sources, the arrest of Durrani took place at his residence in Islamabad.

Following the arrest, Iftikhar Durrani was moved to an undisclosed location, as revealed by the same sources.

Meanwhile, PTI issued a statement claiming that their core member had been “abducted” from Islamabad, and they are currently in the process of gathering more information about the incident.

It is noteworthy that PTI members and leaders have faced various arrests and re-arrests since the May 9 incident, during which party workers launched attacks on military and public installations, stemming from the arrest of the party chief, Khan.

Numerous cases have been filed against the top PTI leadership, accusing them of alleged involvement and incitement against the military leadership.

Following the mayhem of May 9, prominent figures, such as Parvez Khattak, Imran Ismail, Fawad Chaudhry, and Shireen Mazari, have decided to step down from PTI, and some even withdrew from politics altogether.
