Admiral Naveed Ashraf Assumes Office as New Naval Chief

Admiral Naveed Ashraf officially assumed the part of Pakistan’s 23rd naval chief on Saturday, taking over from Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi, who retired.

The transition of command took place during a form at Pakistan Naval Headquarters in Islamabad. In his farewell address, Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi complimented Admiral Naveed Ashraf on his new part, admitting his distinguished career and achievements.

He expressed confidence that Admiral Ashraf would lead the Pakistan Navy to new heights. Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi also stressed the Pakistan Navy’s vital part in guarding the country’s maritime borders, emphasizing its strength as an essential element of the fortified forces.

Admiral Naveed Ashraf brings a wealth of experience to his new position, having preliminarily served in colorful crucial places, including Commander Pakistan Fleet, Naval Secretary, Vice President of the National Defence University, and Deputy Chief of Naval Staff at Naval Headquarters. He began his nonmilitary career in 1989 and has held significant command movables throughout his service.

His former places include Commanding Officer of colorful nonmilitary vessels, commander of Pakistan Naval Academy, and Commander of Destroyer Squadrons. He has also served in staff positions, including Fleet Operations Officer and Director General of C4I( Command, Control, Dispatches, Computers, and Intelligence).

Admiral Naveed Ashraf is a graduate of prestigious institutions similar as Pakistan Navy War College Lahore, National Defence University Islamabad, Naval Staff College in the USA, and the Royal College of Defence Studies in the UK.

He has been honored for his meritorious services with awards, including Hilal- i- Imtiaz( Military) and Tamgha-e-Basalat. As the new nonmilitary chief, Admiral Naveed Ashraf will play a pivotal part in overseeing and advancing the capabilities and operations of the Pakistan Navy.
