Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) being observed today

The Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his devoted companions is being solemnly observed on Thursday to commemorate their supreme sacrifices for the cause of Islam.
Mourning processions are underway in various cities and towns across the country as people pay their respects to the martyrs of Karbala.

Stringent security measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of the processions, including the placement of containers to secure routes.

In Karachi, the main mourning procession started from Nishtar Park and will conclude at Hussainia Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar, following its traditional route. Additional police and Rangers personnel have been deployed in the vicinity to maintain order.

In Lahore, the primary procession for the Chehlum of Karbala martyrs began at Haveli Alif Shah and will conclude at Karbala Gamay Shah, following designated routes.
Chehlum takes place 40 days after the Day of Ashura and marks the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his 72 companions in the Battle of Karbala in 61 A.H.
