Commemorating Defence Day and Martyrs Day on Wednesday, Interim Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar paid a solemn homage to the gallant dogfaces of the fortified forces.

PM Kakar laid a wreath of flowers at the Pakistan Monument, recognizing the Yadgar-e-Shuhada, as a mark of respect to the stalwart dogfaces of the country’s fortified forces. In his communication on this occasion, PM Kakar stated that the entire nation stands forcefully with Pakistan’s fortified forces in order to master those with” minatory intentions” against the integrity and substance of Pakistan.

He added that this significant day, when the entire nation united with its fortified forces, calls upon everyone to make a pledge to renew their spirit of fidelity and service to Pakistan and to pay homage to the dogfaces of the fortified forces. Defence and Martyrs Day is observed moment to pay homage to the Martyrs and Ghazis( soldiers) of the 1965 war and to reaffirm the commitment to defend the motherland against all pitfalls.

This day is devoted to recognizing the Martyrs and Ghazis who formed an unyielding guard to defend the motherland against adversary aggression. It commemorates the events of September 6, 1965, when Indian forces crossed the transnational border under the cover of darkness to attack Pakistan, but the nation baffled their unrighteous designs.

The day commenced with a 31- gun salutation in the civil capital and a 21- gun salutation in parochial centrals. Special prayers were offered in kirks after the Fajr prayer for the progress and substance of the country and for the freedom of India’s immorally enthralled Kashmir.
