Dissolution of Pakistan Parliament Set for Today

Pakistan’s parliament is set to be dissolved today, three days before the completion of the five-year parliamentary term. The last session of the joint sitting of the parliament will address various national issues, including law and order, economic policy, Kashmir, foreign policy, China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), climate change awareness, and more. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is expected to deliver a farewell address during the session.

The agenda for the joint session includes conventional recitation of the Quran, Naat-e-Rasool (poetry in praise of the Prophet Muhammad), and the national anthem. The session aims to address key matters of national importance and reach a consensus on various issues.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced his intention to submit a summary for the dissolution of the National Assembly to President Dr. Arif Alvi. The dissolution of the parliament marks the end of its five-year term and paves the way for upcoming general elections and the formation of an interim government.
