The Election Commission of Pakistan( ECP) has addressed enterprises about the timing of the forthcoming general choices, assuring the Awami National Party( ANP) that the pates will take place bymid-February at the rearmost, or by the end of January if the constituency delimitation process is completed before.

This assurance followed separate meetings between the ECP and representatives of the ANP, Balochistan National Party( BNP), and Balochistan Awami Party( BAP) to bandy the roadmap for the general choices. The ANP delegation, led by its Secretary General Mian Iftikhar Hussain, emphasized the need for a clear election date and schedule in case holding the choices within 90 days wasn’t doable.

They argued that the ECP should have consulted political parties before initiating constituency delimitation, as the commission can not change the number of seats allocated to businesses under the Constitution. thus, there was no need for new delimitation, and the ECP should do with the living seat allocation within each fiefdom. The ECP assured the ANP that it would expedite the delimitation process and that the choices would not extend beyondmid-February.

The ECP explained that the delimitation process was firstly listed to be completed within 120 days by December 14, 2023, and the election schedule would be blazoned soon after. It’s possible that the election schedule will be blazoned in the coming days after reducing the duration of the constituency delimitation process. The BAP delegation supported the ECP’s decision to conduct delimitation grounded on the new tale data and expressed confidence in the commission’s once opinions.

The BNP representatives expressed dubitation about the delicacy of the new tale data and suggested that delimitation shouldn’t do. still, the ECP assured both parties that it would aim to hold choices within 90 days after expediting the delimitation process. Overall, the ECP is working to address the enterprises of political parties and insure a timely and fair electoral process.
