Farewell to an Incredible Journey: Wahab Riaz Announces Retirement from International Cricket

Wahab Riaz, the renowned fast bowler of the Pakistan cricket team and also an adviser to the caretaker chief minister of Punjab on sports, has officially announced his retirement from international cricket.

Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account, Riaz shared that he has made the decision to retire from international cricket after an incredible journey. He expressed gratitude to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), his family, coaches, mentors, teammates, fans, and everyone who supported him throughout his career.
Riaz further mentioned that he is looking forward to exciting times ahead in the realm of franchise cricket.

With a remarkable career spanning several formats, Riaz represented Pakistan in 27 Test matches, 91 One Day Internationals (ODIs), and 36 T20 international matches. He showcased his bowling prowess by claiming 83 wickets in Tests, 120 wickets in ODIs, and 34 wickets in T20 internationals.

Notably, in addition to his cricketing achievements, Riaz is currently serving as a caretaker minister within the Punjab government. Despite not being a part of the Pakistan team for an extended period, he had expressed his desire multiple times to make a return to the international arena.
