“I Joked About Fighting Zuck”: Elon Musk on Cage Fight Banter with Mark Zuckerberg

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has admitted to joking about a potential cage fight with Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, leading to an indirect exchange of words between the two business magnates.

The humorous challenge from Musk came amid rising tensions between the two corporate leaders after Zuckerberg released the new Meta application, Threads, in July. Threads was seen as a rival to Musk’s social media platform, X (formerly known as Twitter).

In response to Musk’s initial challenge, Zuckerberg playfully responded with, “Send me the location,” on an Instagram story. Musk, taking the playful banter further, posted on X (Twitter) that he suggested various locations, including the Colosseum in Italy, but it seemed that Zuckerberg declined, citing travel and other reasons.

Zuckerberg then cryptically indicated that he was no longer interested in the fight, stating that he wanted to focus on competing with people who take the sport seriously. He mentioned that he had offered a real date and even Dana White had proposed a charity competition, but Musk didn’t confirm a date, and now he was suggesting a practice round in his backyard.

The humorous exchange began when Musk replied to a Twitter thread suggesting a cage match between the two. He proposed that the “Zuck v Musk fight” would be live-streamed on X, with proceeds going to charity. Zuckerberg responded with a subtle dig at X, suggesting they use a more reliable platform for raising charity funds.
While the exchange is all in good fun, it highlights the lighthearted rivalry between these tech giants and their ability to engage in playful banter on public platforms.
