Civil Judge Asim Hafeez, who’s the husband of an indicted in a maid torture case, has been designated as an Officer on Special Duty( OSD) as of Thursday.
The decision to appoint him as OSD was made by the Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court, and Hafeez has been directed to assume his new part before August 19. As the disquisition into the contended maid torture case continues, both Asim Hafeez and his woman , indicted Somia Asim, have been summoned by the common disquisition platoon.
Somia Asim is presently in Adiala jail on judicial remand. The case came to light on July 24 when Rizwana, a 14- time-old girl, was admitted to Lahore General Hospital for treatment. Her mama claimed that Rizwana had been subordinated to severe torture by Somia. Rizwana had sustained a head crack that was infected with worms, displayed signs of torture on her body, and had suffered broken arms.
She was also in a state of trauma. Professor Jodat Saleem, who heads the medical board overseeing Rizwana’s treatment, noted that her condition has been perfecting. While she isn’t yet suitable to walk and continues to recover, her infection has significantly reduced. The case has raised enterprises about the treatment and rights of domestic workers and has led to a focus on perfecting their protection and well- being.
