Justice Tariq Masood to Take Oath as Acting Chief Justice Tomorrow

The appointment of Justice Sardar Tariq Masood as the Acting Chief Justice of Pakistan during the winter holidays when Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa is expected to go abroad. This temporary appointment is a common practice to ensure the continuous functioning of the judiciary.

It’s noted that Justice Masood will be taking the oath as Acting Chief Justice and will fulfill this role for the duration of two weeks. Additionally, the Supreme Court of Pakistan is scheduled to observe winter vacation from December 18 to 31, with regular court proceedings resuming from January 1.

The notification emphasizes that court offices will remain open during this period, except on public holidays, and cases of urgent nature will be addressed by the available bench. This approach ensures that essential judicial matters can still be addressed even during the holiday season.
