The young domestic worker, Rizwana, who allegedly suffered mistreatment at the hands of a civil judge’s wife, has been transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) due to her deteriorating condition. According to reports, Rizwana’s health worsened as she refused to eat, but now a medical board, consisting of a psychiatrist, medicine professor, surgery professor, and neuro professor, is closely monitoring her in the ICU.

The doctor revealed that Rizwana’s head wound worsened because she did not receive timely treatment. Additionally, the minor maid has a visible cut mark on her back, and a fracture in her body that has remained untreated for two months, as per the doctor’s observations.

In a recent development, the Islamabad police have registered a case against Somia, the wife of civil judge Asim Hafeez, on allegations of torturing the 14-year-old maid. The case was filed by the girl’s father and has been registered at the Humak police station in Islamabad.

The incident occurred when Rizwana, who had been working as a servant at the residence of Civil Judge Asim Hafeez at the Federal Judicial Academy in Sargodha, was reportedly subjected to severe torture by his wife. The reason for the brutality was attributed to an accusation of stealing gold jewelry.

The maid’s family stated that she had been working at the judge’s house for six months and endured harsh treatment at the hands of his wife. Shockingly, they revealed that Rizwana had not received any salary during her time of service.

Upon examination, the medical team discovered more than 15 torture marks on the girl’s face and body. Due to the seriousness of her injuries, she was promptly taken to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for immediate medical attention. From there, she was referred to the Lahore Hospital for further specialized treatment. The authorities in Islamabad will file an official torture case against the culprits.

It is crucial to ensure justice for Rizwana and protect the rights and well-being of all individuals, especially vulnerable domestic workers. Such incidents must be condemned, and appropriate actions taken to prevent their recurrence in the future.
