Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif is set to embark on a two-day journey to Saudi Arabia today to participate in a special meeting of the World Economic Forum on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development in Riyadh.

During his visit, PM Shehbaz will engage in discussions with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring avenues for cooperation between the two nations. Additionally, discussions regarding the Saudi premier’s upcoming visit to Pakistan will be on the agenda.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Shehbaz is scheduled to meet with Kristalina Georgieva, the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), to deliberate on the details of the new economic package with the monetary fund.

Accompanied by Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and other senior officials, PM Shehbaz will also hold a meeting with Bill Gates, underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to fostering partnerships in various sectors.

This visit marks PM Shehbaz’s second trip to Saudi Arabia during his current term. Previously, during his visit, he had constructive discussions with Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, focusing on strengthening fraternal ties and exploring avenues for collaboration across different sectors.

During his previous visit, PM Shehbaz also performed Umrah and offered Nawafil inside Ka’aba, reflecting the deep ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Later, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud visited Pakistan to discuss investment projects. PM Shehbaz expressed his gratitude for the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the meeting, extending his best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques His Majesty King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud.

PM Shehbaz also briefed the delegation about the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and its initiatives to promote investment in Pakistan, highlighting the crucial role of Chief of the Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir and the cooperation of all institutions in advancing investment in the country through SIFC.
