PSO’s Fuel Supply to PIA Reestablished

0
Fuel supply to Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has been reinstated by Pakistan State Oil (PSO) after the airline paid Rs20 million in outstanding dues. This development followed the suspension of fuel supply to PIA by PSO due to non-payment of dues, leading to the cancellation of several PIA flights. Flights on important routes, including Karachi to Lahore, Karachi to Peshawar, Karachi to Gwadar, Karachi to Islamabad, Karachi to Quetta, Karachi to Bahawalpur, and Karachi to Rahim Yar Khan, were canceled due to the unavailability of fuel.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar recently presided over a high-level meeting to discuss PIA’s affairs. During the meeting, it was revealed that PIA is facing a daily financial loss of Rs400 million. This financial strain has added to the challenges facing the national carrier.
