Sheikh Jaffar Mandokhail of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) was sworn in as the Governor of Balochistan on Monday in a ceremony administered by Chief Justice Balochistan High Court Hashim Khan Kakar at the Governor House.

The oath-taking event was attended by Chief Minister Balochistan Sarfaraz Bhugti, cabinet members, ministers, and provincial assembly members.

Mandokhail brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously held various key positions in the Balochistan government, including Finance Minister, Minister for Planning and Development, Minister for Education, and Minister for Revenue.

President Asif Ali Zardari approved Mandokhail’s appointment as Governor Balochistan based on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recommendation, as outlined in Article 101(1) of the Constitution.

PM Shehbaz Sharif submitted the summary for Jaffar Khan Mandokhail’s appointment to President Zardari following the endorsement of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif. Mandokhail takes over from Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar, the BNP-M leader appointed to the position in 2022.

Meanwhile, the scheduled oath-taking ceremony for Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, the nominated Governor of Punjab, has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances, as confirmed by a PPP leader.
