Supreme Court to Deliberate on Jaranwala Incident Tomorrow

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has listed a hail for a solicitation related to the violent incident in Jaranwala Tehsil, Faisalabad quarter, where a mob ransacked and set fire to churches and attacked places grounded on sacrilege allegations.

The bench, comprising Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Athar Min Allah, and Justice Shahid Wahid, will hear the solicitation on Tuesday. The Supreme Court has also issued notices to the applicable parties regarding the matter. In the incident, a mob attacked and defaced multiple churches and burned homes belonging to the Christian community in Jaranwala, Faisalabad, following allegations of sacrilege.

The Jaranwala police had registered terror cases against further than 600 individualities on August 17 for their involvement in trashing churches and homes of the Christian community. According to the FIR( First Information Report), a large mob, led by a group of individualities, attacked the Christian community, ransacked homes, and set fire to places and a church structure.

The FIR invoked sections of theAnti-Terrorism Act, 1997, and colorful sections of the Pakistan Penal Code. On August 18, the Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, blazoned the arrest of two high suspects in connection with the Jaranwala incident.
