Zartaj Gul Appointed Parliamentary Leader of SIC in NA

Zartaj Gul has been nominated as the parliamentary leader of the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) in the National Assembly, as reported by Pakistan Talk Show on Saturday.

This nomination was approved by the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), marking a significant step for Gul, who is a PTI MNA from Dera Ghazi Khan and a former climate change minister.

The party had initially proposed four candidates for the parliamentary leader position within the SIC. The nominees included Zartaj Gul, Sahibzada Mehboob Sultan, Zain Qureshi, and Ahmed Chattha. After reviewing these names, the PTI founder approved Zartaj Gul for the role.

The head of the Sunni Ittehad Council will officially inform the Speaker of the National Assembly about Zartaj Gul’s nomination as the parliamentary leader of the SIC on Monday. This development underscores Gul’s rising prominence within the party and her expanding influence in the legislative assembly.
