On Monday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) unveiled its new collaboration with the Sunni Ittehad Council and Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM), with the announcement delivered by Barrister Gohar alongside MWM chief Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, head of the Sunni Ittehad Council Sahibzada Hamid Raza, and Omar Ayub Khan.

Barrister Gohar revealed that PTI-endorsed independent candidates, holding positions in the central, Punjab, and KP regions, will unite with the Sunni Ittehad Council.

This decision culminated after extensive deliberations among PTI, SIC, and MWM, Gohar emphasized, adding that PTI candidates will submit their affiliation documents to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) today.

Reiterating the party’s stance on alleged electoral malpractices, Barrister Gohar asserted that PTI secured between 170 to 180 seats in the NA, but the outcomes were tampered with.

During the gathering, Omar Ayub Khan explained that joining the Sunni Ittehad Council was prompted by the necessity to secure reserved seats, as they are exclusively allocated to political entities.

Commenting on the revelations made by the former Rawalpindi commissioner Liaquat Chatha, Ayub accused PTI of being subjected to electoral fraud, particularly in Karachi and Hyderabad during the 2024 elections, allegedly orchestrated by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan.

MWM chief Allama Nasir Abbas and Sunni Ittehad Council head Hamid Raza Khan applauded PTI for navigating the elections successfully without the “bat” symbol, affirming that their alliance with PTI is unconditional.
