COAS Affirms Adherence to Constitutional Limits

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir emphasized the importance of upholding the Constitution and respecting constitutional limits during his address at the Passing out Parade of Cadets at Pakistan Air Force Asghar Khan Academy Risalpur.

General Munir highlighted the significance of a strong Air Force for national defense, emphasizing that without it, a country remains vulnerable to aggression. He commended the Pakistan Air Force for its unwavering bravery and professionalism, citing the events of February 2019 as a testament to their dedication.

Addressing the cadets, General Munir emphasized their role as the guardians of the skies and the guarantors of regional unity. He urged them to embody virtues such as character, courage, and competence in their lives.

Expressing confidence in the cadets, General Munir stated his belief that they would never hesitate to sacrifice for the defense, honor, and dignity of the motherland. He urged them to uphold the nation’s spirit, professionalism, and bravery.

Referring to Article 19 of the Constitution, General Munir emphasized the importance of respecting the limits of freedom of speech and expression. He stated that those who disregard these restrictions cannot criticize others, emphasizing the military’s commitment to upholding constitutional values.

General Munir also highlighted the destabilizing impact of arms races on regional power balances and expressed concern over the ongoing conflict in Palestine. He condemned the indiscriminate violence in Gaza, emphasizing the need to address increasing global violence.

Regarding the situation in Indian illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, General Munir denounced India’s illegal occupation and expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri people. He pledged continued moral, political, and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri cause, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to their freedom.
