COAS Munir Vows Action Against Illegal Activities During Karachi Visit

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir reiterated the commitment of law enforcement agencies (LEAs) and government departments to take strong action against illegal activities during a meeting of the provincial apex committee.

The meeting was attended by the COAS and Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar.

During the meeting, COAS Asim Munir received briefings on various topics, including the revised National Action Plan (NAP), the operation in the kacha area of Sindh, and the security of foreign nationals working on projects related to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), non-CPEC projects, and private initiatives.

He also discussed issues such as the repatriation of illegal foreigners, measures for regulating foreign currency, the Karachi Transformation Plan, progress on initiatives related to the Sindh Infrastructure Development Company (SIFC), and green initiatives in Sindh.

COAS Munir emphasized the importance of taking strong actions against illegal activities to prevent resource pilferage and economic losses faced by the country due to such activities. He called for close cooperation and synergy among all relevant departments to ensure the success of these important initiatives.

The participants of the meeting reaffirmed their commitment to the progress and prosperity of the province, highlighting the unity of state institutions, government departments, and the people in achieving these goals. The COAS was received by the Commander Karachi Corps upon his arrival.
