The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has reserved its judgment on the intra-court appeal filed by former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan against his jail trial in the cipher case.

Imran Khan is presently in Adiala Jail on judicial remand. During the hearing, Salman Akram Raja, Khan’s lawyer, argued that the part of the trial conducted before the cabinet notified the jail trial was illegal.

The Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP), Mansoor Awan, stated that the jail trial was open, addressing concerns about Khan’s family not being allowed in the courtroom initially. The IHC is expected to announce a short verdict in the evening.
