On Friday, the Kashmore police reported that eight dacoits were killed in a shootout in the katcha area of the district. The dacoits were attempting to enter Sindh’s katcha area from Punjab when they encountered the police. Among the deceased dacoits was Janu Indhar, the leader of the Indhar gang, for whom a prize money of Rs10 million had been set.

The dacoits were wanted by the police for their involvement in serious crimes such as dacoities, kidnapping for ransom, and murders.

Following this operation, a search operation is being conducted in the area to ensure the safety and security of the region. The Sindh government had previously authorized a military operation against bandit gangs in the katcha area of Shikarpur, and military troops and Rangers personnel were set to launch an operation along with the Sindh police.
