PTI Disapproves of ECP’s Delimitation Schedule

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf( PTI) has rejected the schedule for delimitations blazoned by the Election Commission of Pakistan( ECP) and has decided to challenge the opinions made by the Council of Common Interests( CCI) in the Supreme Court.

According to PTI, the constitution authorizations that choices should be held within 90 days after the dissolution of assemblies. The party views the ECP’s schedule as an attempt to extend the duration of the caretaker government, and it accuses the commission of wanting to violate the constitution, as it believes was done in the cases of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The ECP had blazoned that due to the delimitation process and executive measures needed, it isn’t possible to hold general choices within the usual 90- day timeframe. The ECP’s schedule is grounded on conducting choices using the 2023 tale data, with delimitation taking place from September 8 to October 7, and the final publication of delimitation details listed for December 14.
