On Tuesday, the Punjab home department imposed a ban on meetings with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder at Adiala Jail, citing security concerns.

The ban, effective for two weeks, was confirmed by sources within the Punjab home department, who also announced a prohibition on media coverage near gate no-5 of Adiala Jail.
The security officer emphasized that media coverage is strictly prohibited, instructing media teams to maintain a distance of 2 kilometers from Adiala Jail.

Previously, Tuesdays and Thursdays were designated by the Adiala Jail administration for meetings with the PTI founder as per court orders. However, these meetings have now been suspended for two weeks.

In a recent development, a joint operation conducted by the Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and police thwarted a potential attack on Adiala Jail. Three terrorists were apprehended along with explosives and a map of the jail during the operation.

According to City Police Officer Syed Khalid Hamdani, the joint operation was initiated based on intelligence indicating the presence of terrorists in the vicinity. The law enforcement agencies successfully conducted an Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO), resulting in the arrest of the suspects and the confiscation of sophisticated weapons, including Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
